I'm All Alone...

...There's nobody here beside me." Ahh the dulcet tones of Donkey from Shrek....I am on my billy as Ann is out having a well deserved night out with the girls from her work so I thought I'd have a chat with the world via a piece of plastic. Also the fact that I have posted pretty much bot-all for a long while, and the fact that I have done a few things recently, mean I actually have a few things to post. Here goes:

I went to see the Manic Street Preachers last Thursday evening. They were fantastic and were one of the most polished live bands I have ever seen. Added to that you got the spectacle of seeing Nicky Wire bounding around like a one-man ministry of silly walks. However, there was one downside to the evening...I got absolutely fleeced by spending five pound on the worst concert programme of all time. I mean there isn't a single word in it..not even a copyright blurb!! There are 8....yes count them 8!! blank pages and a few pictures which at best can be described as odd...The one picture of the band shows them hiding there faces and almost looks like they are ashamed of ripping off their fans with such a piece of toot...well I tell you they fookin should be!! They were great though.

I have just discovered a potentially great TV programme, produced and directed by Bryan "X-Men/Superman/Usual Suspects" Singer called House which stars Hugh Laurie as a slightly odd Doctor, Gregory House. Now there is one major hurdle you have to get over which is that the great man speaks with an American accent....and to be honest it did take a lot of getting over to the extent that I wasn't even going to finish watching it. But I am a huge fan of Hugh Laurie so I went back to watch it and stuck it out and I found that I really enjoyed it. There are some very funny moments and also a lot of very graphic medical procedures...some of which brought back vivid memories of my MRI scan...but all in all I am looking forward to watching it again next week...we Brits can see it on Hallmark Channel on Sky on a Sunday evening. There was even a Rolling Stones reference when House was arguing with his boss and quoted "the great philosopher, Jagger" when he said that "you can't always get what you want" which was followed later by the boss saying that she had researched this great philosopher a found that "if you try sometimes you get what you need". And then the episode ended to the sounds of the Stones...class!

Right they were quite long so I'll finish with a few little snippets:

New series of Doctor Who.....Fantastic

New Doctor...David Tennant.....Wow....Can't wait

And finally I don't know if anyone noticed but didn't the moon look a long way away last night.

I've not watched House yet so I can't comment on whether I approve. I saw a bit and the American accent is a big stumbler for me... I'll let you know.

The manics....pah!

I agree that Dr Who is grand. I think there is only Chris out of everyone that has any issues. I love it.

Andrew Egan you never pointed out the far away moon to me...why not?

It was five billion years in the future and the space station looked like it was a Blue Peter-esque attempt at something out of Thunderbirds!!!!!!

It irked me ok! I keep missing it, I only caught a bit of one where foam-rubber green cabbage patch kids with claws and bad CGI came out of zip-up people or some such bollocks. When are the Darleks due and are they going to be shite too?

See how I tease?! I intend to fully earn my ticket to Hades!
