So today I have been wondering a little bit....
if a person's heart stops have they officially died? This lead me to thinking how long does you heart have to have stopped for it to have officially stopped?

I think you have to be brain dead to be officially dead (no brain activity), otherwise those electric paddle they use to set fire to chest hair, electrocute doctors (via p155 on the floor) and restart hearts would class as bringing people back from the dead and then the voodoo people would sue for breach or copyright. Or something.
